Carter Burden Center for the Aging promotes the well being of seniors 60 and older through a continuum of services, advocacy and volunteer programs oriented to individual, family and community needs. We are dedicated to supporting the efforts of older people to live safely and with dignity. One of its many programs is Making Art Work, provides access to arts and arts education to underserved communities and populations. Older adults engage in creative group activities while learning a new skill such as watercolor or quilt making. Art and craft classes allow participants to experience the pride that comes from successfully completing a project. Classes are taught by Making Art Work teaching artists with years of experience in a wide range of techniques.
